It’s OregaNovember! Let’s show some respect for those little green specs that spice up so many of our favorite foods. Here’s a few fun facts you might not already oregaknow. (Sorry, we had to!)
Oregano means “Joy of the Mountain” in Greek.
It became popular in the U.S. when WWII soldiers returned home from the Mediterranean craving what they called the “pizza herb”.
According to ancient legend, putting oregano oil on your skin before bed would lead to dreaming of your future spouse.
So give oregano a little extra love this month, but remember…there’s no joy in rubbing that slice of pizza on yourself before bed.
